Eliza

Chapter 1
Eliza stumbled through the forest with her wolf, Thunder. He sniffed the ground, and then ran ahead of Eliza.
"Thunder! Come!" called Eliza. Her red wavy hair swung with every step she took. She had hazel eyes, and a dark green long cloak.
Thunder was an obedient wolf - just like a dog. He trotted to Eliza, and looked up at her with loving eyes.
Eliza stopped talking, and kissed the wolf on the nose. He licked her. Eliza had her wolf for a long time. Since she had been three.
"Well, we better get going," said Eliza. She stood up, and then froze. She hastily hid behind a tree, and called Thunder to her. He was growling quietly.
"Shh!" whispered Eliza. "There's someone coming." Eliza didn't want to be seen, because she knew that someone would threaten her to give the wolf, for he was such a beautiful one. And she knew that if you reached the end of the wood, there is a village, where most people were horrible to her. Eliza didn't have any parents, they had died when she had been eight. It had been very terrible. Without her parents, all she had was her faithful wolf, and so she with him to travel - she didn't know where to go though.
Now she listened carefully again, and heard the footsteps. She held her breath, and held onto Thunder. Then she heard a voice:
"One two, tie up my shoelace - oh, I keep forgetting how it goes!" That was a girl's voice.
"Oh, who cares?" said another voice. That was a boy's.
Then Thunder growled, and the girl's voice screamed. "This place is so scary! There are w-w-wolves!" Then she burst into tears.
"Shut up!" said the boy. "Can you please just quiet down?"
"There are wolves, Dean!" the girl cried.
"There are no wolves," said the boy firmly. "Well, if you are so scared anyway, we'll go back home."
"Yes, yes!" said the girl. "Now!"
"Okay. Have we got enough branches for the fire? We do need a lot. It's gonna snow soon."
"Yes!"
Then by mistake, Eliza let go of Thunder, who instantly ran out of behind the tree.
"No!" Eliza shouted. "Thunder - no!" She too, came out from behind the tree, and grabbed Thunder.
The girl screamed, and the boy stared. The girl stupidly ran away, and Thunder ran after her. He wasn't going to harm her, of course, but just play with her.
The boy looked at Eliza, who was about her age, and he said, "Take your wolf away! You're scaring my sister!"
Eliza actually nodded. She called Thunder, who came to her. When Eliza looked up from the wolf, the boy and girl were gone.
What if they told the cops about them? Thought Eliza. Biting her lip, she walked hastily away, and Thunder followed her. Then Eliza said to the wolf, "And it's your fault, Thunder! You ran right into view!"
Thunder just looked at her with his bright yellow eyes.
Eliza settled down on the spiky twigs and fallen pine cones. "Yes. As that boy said, it's going to snow soon, and we'll be in the cold. Well, that's okay for you," said Eliza, and she patted Thunder's soft fur. The wolf lay down, and Eliza buried her head in his fur, and looked up at the trees. Then she closed her eyes.
