Storm

Chapter 3

"I can see him!" That's what Thunder said. "Storm!"
Frost watched as a black wolf ran up to them.
"Sir. . . Frost."
"Yes, Thunder, I know." Storm's voice was deep. He looked at me with yellow eyes like mine, and said, "Frost? Are you all right?"
"Yes, sir," said Frost. "Really - I'm fine. I just need to rest, and lick the wound, and I'll get better."
"Yes. Was it - was it. . .?"
"Yes. It was Greyback who attacked me." Frost knew that she shouldn't have said the enemy's name. Storm growled, and scratched the dirt with his claws.
"Er, sorry sir," Frost said.
"Why was he here. Everyone hates him, he knows that! I'm going to kill him like he did to Snow!" growled Storm. Then he looked up at me, and then said to Thunder, "You can tell the other wolves about Frost."
"No, you don't have to tell them about - well, about how I got hurt. It's nothing serious!" said Frost.
Storm looked at me again, and said, "I would like them to know."
"Uh, well, okay then sir," said Frost.
Thunder ran off, so it was just Frost and Storm.
"Well, I hope you get better," said Storm.
"Thank you," said Frost. Then there was silence.
"Try to rest," said Storm.
"Okay." Frost rested her head, and closed her eyes, but her ears alert.

Thunder nuzzled Frost. She had fallen asleep. "Hey Frost, wake up, Autumn is here! She came to see you!"
"Oh, don't worry," said a reddish brown wolf. She was Autumn. "I can see her tomorrow."
"No - she's waking up."
Frost opened her eyes, and saw Thunder in her face. He drew away, and said to Frost, "Autumn's here."
"Oh, hello Frost! Sorry we had to wake you up. Well, Thunder did. How are your wounds?" said Autumn.
"Really, Autumn, it's nothing!"
"Okay, okay."
Frost licked her wound. It stung. She thought of Greyback, and she trembled in anger. "Horrible Greyback!" she said quietly.

After a few more days, Frost was much better. She got up, and decided to have a walk - it was chilly, and little bits of snow fell down, but Frost's fur would keep her warm.
Thunder saw her get up, and went over to her. "Frost, I think you should stay here and rest for just a little bit more," he said.
"No! I am not going to! I've had enough of sleeping - time to get up. Besides, that little wound was nothing." Frost quickly ran up ahead, so that Thunder couldn't stop her.
