Gamp's laws of Transfiguration

1) Food

a. As the first of laws, food may not be conjured, created or generated in any way shape or form. It can be summoned if already created. It can only be multiplied or divided if already summoned, in other words, food can not be created out of thin air.

2) Money

a. Money can not be created out of thin air, government laws prevent it from being: created, moved or altered by magic.

3) Life

a. There is no spell to reawaken the dead. Although there are magical potions and properties to extend life and alter age and the like, there is no spell that can reverse a life pattern once a life has ended. *Disclaimer: This is the most important law! Study it well.

4) Knowledge

a. You can not know something you've never heard of. Therefore, as the fourth exception, knowledge can be neither conjured nor generated by magic. Prime examples of this are students, prior to exams; it is impossible for them to conjure up the knowledge they need in order to pass the exam. They can learn only what they have studied across their academic year.

5) Love

a. The fifth exception is love. "Love Potions" are misleading, they create lust or desire, they do not create true love. Love is only created from within ones soul.
