Chapter 7
The bell rang. Chase and Holly broke apart. They grabbed their bags from the floor and smiled at each other. "I'll see you at lunch?"Chase says. "Be sure of that." Holly gave him a final kiss and quickly left to her class. Her first class was French, where Jen was in too.
Jen greeted her as she came in, sliding into the seat next to her. "Holly!!" "Hey, Jen." Holly smiles. Jen noticed the necklace around her neck and a grin began to spread on her face. "Is that...." Holly grinned. "A necklace from Chase. He is so sweet!" "Awwww, I can tell he really likes you." "I do too. And I love this necklace so much!"
"Class, class!!" Mademoiselle Aubrey said. She banged a stainless steel ruler on her desk. When the class finally quiets down, she says,"Classe, aujourd'hui nous allons en savoir plus cultures francaises. Il est importante a savoir cette si vous etes voyager a a Paris, France. La France es un plus Endroit magnifique!" A dreamy look comes over her face and the class groans. They all knew how Mademoiselle Aubrey always acts like this whenever she talks about France.
"Anyway, today, ve vill learn about ze French cultures. If you ever go to France, I am zure you will need to know this, because who knowz? Everyone in France speaks both ze English and French!" Mademoiselle Aubrey gives the class two French worksheets each with paragraphs on them. "You vill read the paragraphs as bezt as you can. Highlight any important things that you think is important to know, and then later az a class, we vill discuss this. After ze discussion, we vill partner up with ze people in your group and take turns talking to each other about ze cultures of France. Write two paragraphs on the French cultures after you 'ave finish talking. It vill be for homework if you don't vinish. I expect the two paragraphs tomorrow when you come into class. Began!"
The room was noisy as everyone chatted with each other while reading the texts. Mademoiselle had gone to her desk and the class knew she would be blind and deaf to everything once she was looking at French pamphlets.
