Chapter 8
The four figures ran further and further away. I wasn’t really paying attention to where they were going.
“Harry, I know you are going to get into trouble,” said someone. I then stopped running after them. I was sure that had been the Granger girl talking to Harry!
“See? You are so annoying! Give it a rest! Go back to your dormitory if you don’t want to get into trouble!” Another student said.
Granger didn’t reply.
“We’re here, I think,” said Harry. I then realised we were in the trophy room. Why were they here?
“See? I told you the Malfoy boy was just tricking you!”
“Listen, I can hear something!”
Someone was talking. "Sniff around my sweet. They might be lurking somewhere close." The voice was wheezy and croaky. I recognised the voice. It was Filch the care-taker speaking. I quickly hid in the shadows.
"It's Filch," said someone. "Let's go!" And they all ran.
I didn't follow them, but decided to go back to the Hufflepuff common room. I didn't want to get in trouble. Especially from Filch. So I ran back.
I reached the barrels soon, tapped the barrel two from the bottom, and stumbled into the Hufflepuff common room. I was more sleepy than ever, but was grinning. That had been fun!
I walked to the girl dormitory, and hopped into bed. It had only been five minutes until I fell asleep.

I woke up, and saw that Maggie had gone down to the Great Hall for breakfast. It was quite late. Ten thirty. Well, no surprise, I had been up so late. I now wondered why Harry and Granger and the others had gone to the trophy room. Hermione Granger had said something about Malfoy, maybe he had tricked them into going there. . . . Well, it doesn't really matter for me.
I got dressed, and went down to breakfast with Justin. I told him about what I had seen.
"Wow!" he said. "What if someone had seen them?"
"I don't know," I said. "Well, unlucky for them if someone did."
Justin nodded. "Are you going to go in for the quidditch trial?"
"What - oh, to get into the team?"
"Yeah," Justin replied.
"Yeah, I think I'll have a try," I replied. "Ooh! I hope I do get into the team! I really do! I've always wanted to fly! Are you going to do the trial?"
"Um, I don't think so," he replied. "I prefer watching."
"Okay."
We had reached the Great Hall. We both sat side by side next to Maggie, who said immediately, "I just got to have a conversation with Mya at last! She said she's fine."
"That's good." I smiled at her. "And are you going to go in for the quidditch trial?"
"No, I'm not good at flying. At home we have an old broom, and I when I tried to fly, I was so bad!"
"Yeah, but that was only your first try, and -"
"No, I practised much more, but still wasn't good. Sorry Anna, but I'm not going to try. Are you going to?"
"Yes." I was disappointed. I had wanted her to go in and try.
"Oh, sorry I said no," said Maggie.
"No, it's all right," I said.
The bell rang soon for the usual lessons. First was potions, and I put my essay down of his desk. Maggie did the same.
Snape entered, and he said that we needed to make a potion called the Alihosty Draught, that causes hysterical laughter.
