Lesson 9: Final Examination (Review)
Chapter 9
~Review
-Lesson 1: basic Wizarding law, origin of modern day spells and the wand, learned the Wand Lighting/Extinguishing Charms
-Lesson 2: where our magical power comes from, what makes us magical, blood status types, "Flight" charms, 4 spellcasting components
-Lesson 3: What wands are made of, how movements affect spells, movements often share similarity for charm they were designed for, make sure wand is pointed at target when spell ends, biggest limitation of magic: amount of precise spell info that can be remembered, learned the Unlocking and Mending Charms
-Lesson 4: Origin of Latin incantations, incantations require very precise pronunciation, learned Locomotor and Fire-Making Charms
-Lesson 5: Concentration - the act of centering your mind and centering your spell’s effects on the target in order to make the spell happen, can be short or extended but is present in all spells, how to increase concentration to make better spells, learned 2 modifiers of the Wand-Lighting Charm
-Lesson 6: Willpower - amount of mental "push" put into a spell, mental equivalent of physical strength, the more magic required, the more willpower, not every spell requires it, learned how to increase our willpower when required, learned the Levitation Charm and the Sticking Charm
-Lesson 7: Went over static/dynamic spells, static spells don't require concentration after casting, dynamic spells do, learned the Softening and Severing Charms
-Lesson 8: How to put all components together and create your own spells, how spells are created, learned the Warming and Chilling Charms and how they are good concentration practice
