Because of certain shows like Twilight or The Vampire Diaries. The truth is, vampires don't sparkle in the sun, they burn. They don't fall in love with humans, they eat them. Chapter 2- Why Learn About Vampires?

Chapter 2

It is always, always good to know about anything that could be of danger to you, your family or anyone. Right now, you are probably thinking about how you know all you need to know about Vampires right? You've read everything from Twilight, to The Vampire Diaries to Interview With A Vampire. You know all you need to know, right? Wrong.

A Vampire will not save you from being smashed by a truck, or catch you when you fall of a high building. A true Vampire would be feasting on your blood as soon as your lifeless boy hits the ground.

Knowledge is always an important thing to know, so if you have the chance to learn about anything that could help you out in the future, I suggest to take the offer up.

You could fin yourself wondering through the forests of Transylvania, and come face to face with a vampire. No, not the sparkling ones you see on TV, a real blood sucking demon. When you are face to face with these terrifying creatures, you want to know what to do, meeting one of these creatures could be the last thing you might ever do.

You would not survive a chase from a Vampire. It's no cat and mouse game when it comes to these creatures. They have supper speed, strength, hearing, eye sight and even more that we've yet to discover. Hiding, or running is not an option when it come down to meeting a Vampire.

The best thing to do is, if you know your going to be travelling somewhere you know Vampires are famous to be living, bring at least 3 bottles of Holy Water and a necklace of garlic, and also a cross necklace. This may sound cheesy and silly but it may as well save your life.

Something else that might sound silly, but it really does help is praying. For an atheist this must sound ridiculously, but it really does work. If you come face to face with a Vampire make the sign of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit, and say this aloud while you do it.

What this will do is create a 'buzzing' sound in the Vampire's ears and it will irritate them. They will be so focused on the buzzing that they will forget all about you and care for their head as it starts to become painful. While this is happening, run as fast as you can. If you have garlic or Holy Water spread it across the trail that you ran away from them, and they wont be able to follow your sent.

When you get to the closet public place you can, get a taxi (a Muggle car, used to drive people around) or get a ride from one of the many Night Buses, I suggest to get as far away from the Vampire as can. Do this because everyone has their own smell, and even if a vampire gets one sniff of your sent, they will remember it forever. Your sent will be added to a list in their mind of all the people they have to track down and eat. Washing your hands with Holy Water twice a day (once in the morning, once at night) should also help cover your sent.

So that's what you do if you come face to face with a Vampire in a deserted area.
