Lesson 4: There's Magic In All of Us

Chapter 4
~Magic In the Air

-To qualify as magical, a plant must either exhibit odd behavior or have unique abilities.
-These abilities can be of the plant itself (like Creeping Ivy’s ability to move at will) or can grant a unique ability to anyone who uses the plant(Ex: Gillyweed)
-Chinese Chomping Cabbage has a nasty bite
-Roses are very useful but nonmagical
-Nonmagical does NOT mean ineffective
-Muggles can utilize nonmagical plants' properties(Ex: Tea, herbal remedies) but can't tap into their true potential
-When wizards use nonmagical plants in potions, their properties are enhanced
-Magical plants can have the ability to be sentient while nonmagical plants cannot
-Many plants seem to have personal preferences(like the Mandrake)
-Nonmagical plants are less reactive in potions and less temperamental/more predictable
