Lesson 1: Introduction to Astronomy
Chapter 1
~Astronomy, Muggle and Magical
-Muggles define "Astronomy" as "the study of the universe"
-Since the International Statute of Secrecy, magical people have drifted more toward magical studies and Muggles have drifted toward technological studies.
-Astrology, looked on as a myth by Muggles, is a major magical sub-field of Astronomy
-Muggles take observational studies while wizards focus more on magic-based theories
-Muggles have an advantage as they are much more technologically advanced and technology interferes with our magic
-Magical astronomers excel at applied astronomy
-Astronomy really does affect us -the arrangement of stars can predict the future and a full moon can transform a werewolf into a wolf-like form
