Lesson 5: Gnomes and Doxies
Chapter 5
~Gnomes
-pests that should be removed from home
-look like little potatoes
-Stand no taller than 1 foot
-Rated XX
-2 methods to remove gnomes: Jarvey method and the spin & toss method
-Jarvey Method: Unleash a Jarvey(natural gnome predator) into infected area and it will hunt gnomes. Not preferred as it leaves lots of gore to clean up afterward
-Spin & Toss Method: More humane, less reliable. Get ahold of gnome by the legs, spin it over your head till it's dizzy, and throw them as far as possible
-Gnomes will try to bite you, their teeth are blunt
-Infection is a possibility. Symptoms include: Swelling, inflammation, fever, fatigue, tenderness around bite, and limpness of affected area
-Infections can become dangerous if not properly treated
~Doxies
-aka "biting fairy"
-pest
-Can fly but is not a fairy, even though it is often categorized with fairies
-Blue skin, extra pair of arms and legs
-2 shiny beetle-like wings
-2 rows of razor sharp teeth
-Doxy bites are much more dangerous and have a higher infection risk
-If bitten, take a dose of the Antidote to Common Poisons
-Can have an allergic reaction. Symptoms include: Redness, pain in the affected area, swelling of the lips, tongue, or throat, chest pain, difficulty breathing, and wheezing
-Create their nests behind old drapes, can lay up to 500 eggs
-Clear out all doxy eggs when clearing out an infestation or they'll return
-Doxy eggs can be valuable in potion-making
-Use Doxycide, a bad-smelling black liquid that will paralyze doxies when sprayed
-Sprayed doxies should be removed from area within a few hours as the Doxycide wears off
