Lesson 2: Bright Lights and a Little Revealer
Chapter 2
~Components of Spellcasting
-They are concentration, willpower, wand movement, and incantation.
-Concentration: aka "focus", mental component that channels your magic to the target to accomplish the desired effect. Think of what you want the spell to do
-Willpower: The magical force exerted to make the spell happen. Seems simple, but needs time to master.
-Wand Movement: A way to help witches and wizards channel their magical energy and draw on the energy both in and around them. Some are simple and some can be extremely complex.
-Incantation: The words you say to make the spell work. Must be said with appropriate pronunciation.
~The Verdimillious Charm
-Offensive spell
-Can also be used for temporary light and can reveal objects hidden by Dark Magic.
-To achieve either of the above effects, you'll need to use two different wand movements, one for each.
-when cast in offensive form, the charm will shoot green sparks out of the tip of wand which will fly at your opponent, explode and give them a stinging sensation.
-In illumination form is not often as used. Will shoot green light out of your wand, shoot toward the ceiling, and explode in a bright flash. Temporarily illuminates the area and outlines any Dark objects.
-Move quickly as light lasts only for a short time
-Spell Blocks:
Spell: The Verdimillious Charm (offensive version)
Incantation: Verdimillious (vur-duh-MILL-ee-us)
Wand Movement: A forward slash the ends pointing at the target
Concentration: Low - focus on the effect
Willpower: Low
Effect: Green sparks will shoot out of the wand and fly towards the target and sting them
Spell: The Verdimillious Charm (illumination version)
Incantation: Verdimillious (vur-duh-MILL-ee-us)
Wand Movement: A circular motion above your head aimed at nothing
Concentration: Low - focus on the effect
Willpower: Low - More willpower can slightly extend the duration of the light
Effect: Green sparks will fly upward and explode, filling the area with green light and reveal
objects hidden by Dark magic
~The Revealing Charm
-Also has 2 variants, but we will only focus on one(the Enchantment Revealing Charm).
-Used to reveal hidden messages
-Relatively simple to cast
-Will have one of two outcomes: 1) Nothing will happen. There's no hidden text on target object. 2) Any hidden writing on the object will glow purple and reveal itself. This lasts about 5 minutes so multiple castings may be required.
-Spell Block:
Spell: The Revealing Charm
Incantation: Aparecium (AH-par-EH-see-um)
Wand Movement: Tap the target object
Concentration: Low - focus on the effect
Willpower: Low - Can use more willpower to “charge” the spell and make it last longer
Effect: Nothing if there is no hidden text. If there is hidden text, the words will glow purple for a
few seconds before looking normal. The message will conceal itself after about five minutes.
~Assigments
