Creature: Imp
Ministry Classification: Beast, XX (Harmless)
Location/Desired Environment: Native to Britain/Ireland, resides in marshes
Diet: -
Disposition: Mischievous, loves to lead people astray and pull pranks - will push you, trip you, and drop things on your head
Appearance: 6-8", wingless, dull
Abilities/Natural Defensive/Offensive Methods: Minimal magical abilities, can apparate, can't cast spells
Ways to Repel One: The Knockback Jinx (will stun), the Verdimillious Charm
Creature: Bowtruckle
Ministry Classification: Beast, XX (Harmless)
Location/Desired Environment: Will only reside in trees which can produce wand wood
Diet: Woodlice, fairy eggs (delicacies)
Disposition: Peaceful if you keep your distance, will attack fiercely if you don't to protect their home tree
Appearance: 8" or under, sticklike
Abilities/Natural Defensive/Offensive Methods: Cannot be affected by magic, have sharp nails (2 on either arm) which will dig into you
Ways to Repel One: Retreat, offer fairy eggs or woodlice to distract
Creature: Gnome
Ministry Classification: Beast, XX (Harmless) - considered a pest
Location/Desired Environment: Anywhere, most often your garden
Diet: -
Disposition: Pests, may try to bite you
Appearance: Comparable to potatoes, 1' or under
Abilities/Natural Defensive/Offensive Methods: Blunt teeth that can bite
Ways to Repel One: 2 methods: Spin & Toss and Jarvey (See Chapter 5)

Location/Desired Environment: Anywhere in the home

Disposition: Vicious, pest
Appearance: Blue skin, extra pair of arms/legs, beetle-like wings, 2 rows of sharp teeth
Abilities/Natural Defensive/Offensive Methods: Can cause infection with bites, can lay up to 500 eggs, eggs are valuable in potions
Ways to Repel One: Doxycide, be sure to remove all eggs
Creature: Gargoyle

Location/Desired Environment: Gothic buildings, buildings in general
Diet: -
Disposition: Quasi-sentient, protective
Appearance: Varies widely, similar to grotesques
Abilities/Natural Defensive/Offensive Methods: Protects doors through passwords

Diet: Children, raw liver, will eat other meat if desperate

Appearance: Pale skin, otherwise similar to humans, supposedly only 4 toes

Disposition: May hold grudges against other ghosts, no ill-intent on the living, generally friendly
Appearance: Transparent, weightless, cannot physically touch things
Abilities/Natural Defensive/Offensive Methods: Can be offended easily. Is the essence left behind of a witch/wizard
Ways to Repel One: None, but be courteous when talking to one and don't walk through one. Wand-Lighting Charm can be used to repel an annoying one

Location/Desired Environment: Places where many people gather
Diet: -
Disposition: Rarely tries to kill, mischief and prank loving
Appearance: Formless with rare exceptions

Ways to Repel One: Must leave the place the poltergeist inhabits and never return. Some may listen to certain people

Location/Desired Environment: A few locations, including the Forbidden Forest
Diet: Humans
Disposition: Extremely vicious, attacks in packs
Appearance: large dogs, white, pitch black eyes
Abilities/Natural Defensive/Offensive Methods: Hunts in packs of 2-6, especially dangerous, can blend into surroundings easily
Ways to Repel One: Can scare with Wand-Lighting Charm

Location/Desired Environment: Reservation in Fiji Islands

Disposition: Can be offensive if not at a safe distance

Appearance: Manticore x Firecrab, looks like a scorpion/crab, tail-like limb with poisonous stinger (males only), suckers (female), venemous bite, 10' long
Abilities/Natural Defensive/Offensive Methods: Stinger (males), Suckers (females), shoot fireballs out of rear end, poisonous bite, quick-moving
Ways to Repel One: Find chink in armor and cast a spell at it
