Professor Wessex can be seen at the front of the room, reclining in the carved, high-backed chair behind the desk as though she has not a care in the world. Well-accustomed to her mannerisms at this point, students file in and take their seats at the tables. Mostly, they busy themselves with unpack…
Professor Wessex is once again in the front of the class today, though she is still far from a welcome committee. She sits at her desk, largely ignoring her students’ existence in favor of scratching her quill across parchment. As the clock tolls the hour, she rolls the parchment up and attac…
Professor Wessex is absent from the front of the classroom this morning, though no one is surprised by her return to this behavior. The chill of the castle is felt very strongly here, and students cast Warming Charms on each other as they wait for the clock to toll the hour and their professor&rsqu…
This week at the front of the class, in the place where Professor Wessex’s finely carved desk typically sits, there is an odd looking museum plinth covered with a cloth -- and likely protected by more than what meets the eye. Quite a few of the students exchange glances, speculating with thei…
The classroom is bedecked with numerous fragments of wood today. Some of them are on thick planks as wide as the tables in the Great Hall, while others are on tiny, jagged fragments. A handful of students are bold enough to go over and investigate -- though they are wary not to touch -- wondering h…
There are no more planks of wood dotting the shelves, alcoves, and displays in the Room of Runes today. Or, at least, no more than usual. Instead, there are a few slabs of stone accompanied by pottery, whole or in pieces, along with the odd fragment of papyrus. Professor Wessex sits at the front …
This afternoon, in addition to Professor Wessex, the Room of Runes is staffed by two young-looking adults. They appear to have just graduated, though they don’t look like they attended Hogwarts. The Slytherin professor issues orders from her chair in a clipped, no-nonsense tone as the pair of…
It seems Professor Wessex’s interns have been busy yet again. It did seem a little out of character for Professor Wessex to set the classroom up all on her own every week -- magic or no magic. Some of the Proto-Canaanite artefacts have been switched out for fragile-looking sheets of papyrus w…
The classroom is littered with birds of all different shapes and sizes this afternoon. A cruel, steel-beaked eagle owl perches next to a sleepy tawny, who is in turn next to a condor, and more besides. They all bear letters either in their talons, their mouths, or affixed in some other way. The stu…
