Backstory

The last wizard in my family was over a century ago. His name was Aeyr Lowell the Fifth and rumor has it, he had a gambling problem. During one of his illicit gambling adventures, he promised more than he could deliver and a powerful curse was placed on him and, unfortunately, the family as a whole. Every Lowell since has been a squib, with little to no magical abilities. Growing up, tales of magic and schools full of magical children were simply that- stories. It was tradition to pass them along, but I never realized the things I was being told were true. It wasn't until my tenth birthday when I had a mishap at the park that I knew something about me was different. I'd been attempting to catch a lizard who'd been hiding beneath a slide and set it free in a bush. Before I could catch it, a group of older kids cornered me, one of whom snatched the lizard away and threatened to stomp on it. Suddenly, it was like something inside of me awakened and the kids who'd surrounded me before were now stuck to the slide, as though they'd been glued on. Quickly I grabbed the lizard from the head bully who was now crying for his mum and hightailed it to the surrounding woods to set the lizard free. I hid there for ages, terrified there was something wrong with me. My father found me a few hours later. That night when we got home, he pulled out one of the oldest, dustiest books I'd ever seen. It was full of pictures, moving ones! He explained to me that all the stories I'd heard growing up were true, that magic was real and that I was the first in my family for many, many years to possess it. The very next year, on my 11th birthday, I became the first Lowell in 137 years to receive a Hogwarts letter.

~ Aeyr Fourth Year and Above ~
After his parents divorced in his third year, Aeyr took a turn from the endearing, friendly boy he used to be. While he still pushes himself to work hard in school, believing that if he succeeds it will bring his parents back together, he is no longer the friendliest or most rule-abiding student. He is prone to being cruel with the slightest bit of provocation and has little patience for others. This has made him a loner. He uses his tough exterior to hide the pain he still feels from knowing he was the cause of his parents divorce.
((Open to roleplay with anyone// If Romance rp, please know that he is gay, although he isn't out yet))
