Backstory

When I received my letter for Hogwarts, I thought it was a prank (my Mom is a Muggle, you see, and my dad was a wizard- but he left when I was one, without telling my mom anything!) and I threw it in my fireplace. But when more letters came (via owl) I realized it was not a prank and set out to get my school supplies, but didn't know how to get to Diagon Alley. I sent a letter back to Hogwarts using one of the owls that were resting on my windowsill explaining my problem. Hogwarts got my letter, sent a professor to help me find my way around the Wizarding World, and a few days later I'm a first-year student at Hogwarts!
