Backstory
I was sorted into Ravenclaw, while I do exemplify both Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff traits the sorting hat does take your decision into account and thus, I am in Ravenclaw. I was a hatstall though. The classes I have (so far) enjoyed the most have been Charms, Potions and my favorite, History of Magic. These are of course, subject to change. I am both terrible at and do not enjoy Flying Lessons. I am a half-blood, my mother did go to Hogwarts in her youth but I was born and raised in the outside world. The first time I heard about any of this was when the letter arrived in the mail. I was very excited to find out about the Wizarding World, but I am still learning about how to navigate it, especially with using money, Galleons, Sickles and Knuts. I wasn't alive when Voldemort rose to power, but I have read stories from the most recent event. I would like to say that I am very understanding, but I can have trouble expressing my thoughts and I can be rude sometimes. I also have mild asthma and am fairly weak physically, so sports and serious physical fighting is far from my strong suit. After graduating Hogwarts I hope to research magical beasts and/or the future possibilities of magic. To me, one of the most interesting things about magic is the endless possibility. What are the limits, and are there any at all? What causes magic to exist in people, since it doesn't seem to be influenced by blood, as demonstrated by muggle-born witches and wizards. I want to use magic to understand it better and to help everyone have an easier life. If there is anything I want in life it is to live up to my predecessors and uncover the secrets of magic. I have two cats, though I hope top own more and/or a reptile some day. The oldest cat, Jynx/Jynxy is a orange and white striped cat and he is furthest from a typical cat one can be, loves food and is very friendly to us. He tends to follow us around, and he responds to his name being called. The other is Bell, a fully black cat that has her own way of doing things, wanders where she likes, stereotypical cat. I loose her a lot, but if she purrs like a lawnmower if you get her to warm up to you, and that overrides her flaws in my eyes. My father is very supportive and has reacted fairly well to my mother and I being witches, however my grandparents on my mothers side dislike magic quite a bit for some reason. Thankfully I don't visit them much these day. When I'm home my father likes to have 'family time' that usually includes some sort of board game, or sometimes a strange version of Trivia about the wizarding world, run by my mother. It also doubles as revision/studying for me. Do I need to explain what board games are? I'm not sure how much people here know about the muggle world.
