Backstory

I was sorted in Hufflepuff after a long conversation with it. Well, it was mostly talking TO me, but I listened- I was almost put in Gryffindor, but it was settled I would do better in Hufflepuff. It took nearly a full four minutes to reach a conclusion. I am a muggleborn, though my parents are both really supportive of my new academic pursuits. Obviously many people don't know I'm muggleborn and the ones who do know don't care. However, I have mey a few who were rude simply on the basis of blood status. Being from Canada, I do not know what the UK during the time of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named was like, but from what I've heard from other witches, it was a scary time. My greatest strength might be my desire to succeed, though that is also my weakness. I try so hard and when it doesn't work out, my confidence can really suffer. I feel like I only know a fraction of the magical professions, so I have yet to decide. I want to get a good idea of what I could do before I decide. I grew up in a time when many people were well-enough off, but many more were suffering from the selfish actions of others. I would love to find a way to use magic to help others and possibly pave a new path for young witches and wizards, if I end up blazing a trail of my own. Back home, my family has two dogs, three horses, four cats, and three birds. I have my own cat with me in Hogwarts. His name is Grimthor and he is a very friendly cat who prefers to sit on laps and in the sun than to roam corridors and alleyways.
