Backstory

Finding a Hogwarts acceptance letter on the windowsill of my small apartment I shared with my mother and little brother changed all of our lives. None of us knew what it meant -- My mother defiantly wasn't a witch and my father left after getting my mother pregnant with Liam (my little brother). I barely knew him, only having faded memories of him when I was young. No one knew he was a wizard, not even my mother, but he had to have been considering the fact I'm a halfblood. My mother thought it was a joke, throwing the letter away but being surprised when another one found its place. After a few letters and a painfully long chat with my mother, I convinced her to give it a chance: so she did! of course we followed the directions but soon figured out she nor my brother could follow me - so I was off on my own. The adventure to figure out what wizards and witches were while also gathering supplies for school was a struggle, but soon I found myself sitting on a stool with a sorting hat on my head. I didn't exactly know what the sorted houses were, having heard very little before being sorted myself, but I trust that the hat did its job right. I was nervous back than and still am to this day, I didn't do very good in normal school, let alone a school full of witches and wizards -- however, I am able to stay just one step ahead of the game. I've never had perfect grades; in my old school I used to be considered "short tempered" by the teachers so i often found myself in the office, but nonetheless I was pretty popular to the students. Hopefully that stays the same, it would suck to be a loner and also not have straight A's.
