Backstory

I was born in Tennessee and I grew up on a farm with my Muggle born Dad. I loved working with the cows, sheep, and chickens at a young age. My dad was always busy at work so I spent a lot of time out in the fields by myself with the animals. Occasionally, I might tap my toes or sing a song and the barn would come to life with rhythms and beats made by the clang of tools in the work shed. The animals would make noises to my melody and I could enchant all the inanimate objects in the barn to create an orchestra from rudimentary tools. Little did I know that I had innate witch powers that were spurred on by my little musical mind. Turns out my Mom had been a witch from England!
My mother left us right after I was born so I never knew her. I have a deep desire to figure out how she got to Tennessee in the 70s, why she left us after my birth, and where she is now. But all I know is that a mysterious owl turned up at our farm house the year I turned 11 years old. It had a letter in its beak with peculiar writing. My Dad read the letter and burned it right away. He denied any magic or mystical events in my life. But another letter came. And, another. One letter must have had a special enchantment with it because my Dad finally gave in and explained more of my story!
Apparently, my distant relatives from England and Wales wanted me to attend Hogwarts. In one of the letters, they offered safe passage across the ocean and finances for tuition fees. I was still confused but a few months later two women showed up on our farm dressed in dark clothes and capes. My Dad introduced them as my Aunts from Wales. They said that they knew my Mom and knew that it was important I go to Hogwarts to develop my talents as a witch. I was still so shocked by all the new information. I never left my home town before. Yet, feelings of intrigue and curiosity stirred inside of me. One of the aunts looked a lot like an old picture of my Mother. I knew this was my family and that a magic deep inside was waiting to awaken and bloom.
I said goodbye to my Dad and my animals. I gave them lots of hugs and promised to write. I followed my Aunts on a long journey across the Atlantic by boat. I was scared and nervous by the trip but everything felt right when I arrived in Wales! The dark land with tall cliffs and bright beaches was more beautiful than I could ever imagine. Ducks, sheep, and cows were all over the country side. My Aunts let me ride along side them on a broom and I was introduced to so many new mysteries I could not wait to explore. I moved into their little cottage and they told me to get ready for Hogwarts in three weeks. I asked many questions about my mother but my Aunts usually avoided or side stepped the questions... until one day I asked about something I saw in one of their books. I asked about dragons and if they really existed. Were there any dragons in Wales? My aunts looked at each other. One looked like she might faint. The other responded, "no more questions. You will learn more about witches, dragons, and your mother later. For now, focus on your studies at Hogwarts!" So here I am. At Hogwarts with so much to learn!
