Farren Darrow

Backstory

Farren was born to a Squib who was ostracized from the Wizard World. The Squib, her father, August, had been born to a rich family but kicked out of it when he was of age since he had no power. August led a normal muggle life from then on, marrying a muggle woman, Eliza, and having a single child, Farren. The moment August saw that his daughter had magical power, he was jealous. And, when she got her Hogwarts letter, he had already scared her about what to expect, wanting her to fail and deny her powers to live as a muggle, feeling as if he didn't get the life among magic folk that he wanted, then she shouldn't either.

Lied to about the magical world, Farren was extremely shy her first year. Sorted into Raveclaw, she did not fit in at all. Teased and taunted her first four years for being too shy, too meek, and too smart, Farren made a single Ravenclaw friend, Astrid. That summer before her fifth year, two terrible things collided. August had become increasingly depressed began to drink over the past couple of years. His wife left him and he was drunk often. One night, August and Farren had been fighting and she used her magic to break a plate to intimidate him and he kicked her out.

With nowhere to go, Farren lived on the streets for a week until school started up again. When she got there, she was told that Astrid had been killed in an Quidditch practice accident.

Not even taking a single day to grieve, Farren threw all of her clothes away, changed her appearance completely and began to dress and act more confidently. Almost overnight, she became one of the most popular students at Hogwarts and definitely one of the most sought after girls in Slytherin. She never went home again, spending summers with the many 'friends' she had acquired and graduated with top marks (still the closet nerd).

Using any means necessary, she climbed in rank at the Ministry of Magic. Slated as a good choice for the next Undersecretary, Farren currently works for Magical Affairs.
