Backstory

Hello everyone,
My name is Cassie and I just found out that I am a witch. Kind of an unusual thing to find out this late in life. No one in my family possesses any kind of magical qualities except for me, or so I thought. My parents are both lawyers you see, two of the best ones all through out NYC which is where I grew up. They both uphold a very high reputation. I started showing magical abilities when I was two, I could make objects fly just by looking at them and I could make them explode if I stared hard enough. My parents became concerned that this would get out to the public and ruin their reputations, so they kept me hidden. For years I was not allowed out of my bedroom except for meals and I was homeschooled until I was 18. Once I was done with school, my parents were still determined at keeping me hidden in my bedroom. They would lock all of the doors and windows so I could not escape. Although I could make objects move over the years that power weakened rather suddenly when I was 11 years old and I could not make anything move for a very long time. It was not until my 19th birthday, I was locked in my room one night while my parents were kept at the courtrooms with a huge case. I was very determined to escape and out of no where I was able to make objects move again. I unlocked my bedroom door, unlocked my parents front door, and I ran away from that house and not once looked back. I was able to gather enough money from what I could find in my parents house and I bought myself a plane ticket to England, a country that I learned so much about during my years of home schooling and in which I dreamed one day I would escape to. For the last 11 years I have been residing in London, working for various coffee shops and living in a studio apartment just above one of those shops. I am still able to make objects move and when no one is looking I can sometimes use those abilities to help with various duties around the shops I work for. It was just the other night I came home and found a letter in my mailbox. This letter explained everything I had been questioning for years. It explained that I am a witch and that I have ancestors from all through out England who were witches and wizards up until my grandparents. My grandparents did not possess any magical abilities and neither did my parents. I do not have any aunts or uncles. My grandparents moved to NYC many years ago determined to live normal lives in which my parents followed that trait. As it turns out Hogwarts had sent me a letter when I was 11 years old and my parents got a hold of it before I was able to see it. They were so determined to maintain their normal lives and uphold their reputations that they were not having any of this. Apparently there was a situation going on and a lot of witches and wizards recently have learned that they all had magical blocks placed on them at young ages, myself included. Somehow, do not ask me how as I am still trying to figure out how they were able to pull this off, somehow my parents were able to get a hold of someone who worked in the ministry who knew the person behind all of this, and they had this person place a block on my magic. This was the reason why I lost my ability to move objects. Somehow on my 19th birthday there was a burst of accidental magic and this block was lifted. The ministry of magic has been trying to figure this whole thing out for years now. Who was it who placed this magical block? Who was it who lifted it and how? The ministry is very determined to figure this out which is why they have asked me to come to Hogwarts despite my age. Not only do they want my help figuring this out but this would give me an opportunity that I was denied of, studying magic. I am determined to help solve this mystery and to learn all about magic. I hope to become an excellent witch.
