Backstory

My mother is a witch. Came from a large and wealthy wizarding family. My father, being a muggle, surprisingly accepted this whole-heartedly. He is a teacher and lover of oddities and she was a Ravenclaw, so they match very well. They moved to America before I was born, as Mother was transferred there for her job, but we visited family in London frequently. Mother taught me all about her life and I was ridiculously interested in magic from the beginning. I wished and wished that my magical abilities would show and I could go to Hogwarts, where Mother attended school. When my abilities FINALLY manifested around my 8th birthday, we celebrated. I could have gone to school in America, but I became absolutely determined to attend Hogwarts. Mother requested a transfer back to London, and we were allowed to move back to be with my mother's family.
When my acceptance letter came, we immediately went to Diagon Alley to get my supplies. Becoming the best witch I could be became my drive. I wanted to prove to my family that I deserved these abilities. My knowledge of both the Muggle and Wizarding worlds have given me all the tools for my drive towards success.
Mother wasn't shocked when I was sorted into Slytherin. She said that my drive, determination, and independence has always been the qualities she most admired of me. I will make her proud.
