Backstory
Hi! My name is Ivory Devost, and I am a Soul Healer coming back to continue my studies at Hogwarts, as I never got the chance to finish and graduate from Hogwarts when I was a student here. I am a half-blood, coming from a diverse family background. We have family members all over the world from different houses and from different muggle professions. Our family is pretty unusual, since we don't all have one house that we are typically put in. My mum was a Slytherin who fell in love with my muggle dad, who is a veterinarian and probably a Hufflepuff at heart. I am a Hufflepuff through and through, though I was a hatstall. It didn't quite know where to put me since I have such a diverse family history and many qualities of all the houses. Ultimately, it sorted me into Hufflepuff due to my kindness, empathy, and loyalty. I love my house and wouldn't change it for the world! I would have to say that my greatest strength is probably my ability to empathize with people and that I am a very loyal friend. My greatest weakness is that I tend to let people walk all over me because I want to be kind and loving to everyone. I love to learn, and enjoy most of my classes here at Hogwarts, though my favorite is probably Charms. I was in my fifth year at Hogwarts when Voldemort came into power and the Battle of Hogwarts took place. That is why I was unable to continue my studies, as my parents decided to let me choose if I wanted to take a break from school. As much as I missed Hogwarts, I needed some time to collect myself. I went and studied muggle psychology at University in the meantime, and am now finishing my studies at Hogwarts. Like I mentioned before, I am a Soul Healer, which means that I put psychology and magic together when your would is aching, and I help it feel better. I can't fix souls, that is up to you, but I can be a safe place for you to talk out what you are feeling and can offer up remedies to help guide you and make you feel better along the way of feeling better again! The most fascinating aspect of magic to me is just the way it behaves, and why it does what it does in some areas and not in others. I love that about magic, how it's so mysterious and playful at times too. I have a few different pets, including an calico short-haired cat named Pooka, a white great and named Oliver, and a barn owl named Winston that I rehabbed back to health when he broke his beak. Pooka is the sassiest of the three, and demands pets and snuggles pretty much any time I sit down to do work. Oliver is clumsy, but really only wants attention and treats. He is a big softie that likes to act tough. Winston, or Winnie as I like to call him, is the most shy animal I have, and he hates change but is a very prideful animal and loves to deliver mail and packages.
