Eli Thorn was born in The United States to Charolette and William Thorn. His father, an American Muggle Expert, and his mother, a Romanian self taught Herbologist, died in an accident on the rail way the year before Eli got is acceptance letter to Hogwarts, resulting in his bizarre fear of trains. Due to this he's allowed to transport via Portkey to Hogsmead and rides the carriages to school.
He now lives with his brother Bryce, ten years his elder, and Bryce's girlfriend Emelia in Romania. Bryce and Eli do not get along, since Bryce abandoned the family shortly after graduating from Hogwarts, but Eli has taken to Emelia as if she was his second mother. Bryce is also not supportive of Eli's transitioning, since he was born a female. Eli never visits home on holidays and only communicates with Emelia.

Eli is shy and soft spoken. Though rebellious since his parents' death he has never raised his voice or hand to another person (though his wand is another story). He tends to keep to himself, claiming a corner in the Slytherin Common Room next to the fireplace, keeping to himself where he studies and drinks coffee. He enjoys Herbology since his mother raised numerous magical and nonmagical plants while she was alive and loved teaching him about them. Eli tends to skip lunch to hang out around the Whomping Willow, which doesn't mind his presence, or to tend to his plot in the Greenhouses.

Eli excels in all courses, usually mastering them right off the bat. His best classes so far are Herbology and Potions.

In his first year Eli was 5'8 and barely 120 pounds due to his eating disorder. He has black hair and green eyes. Though he often questions why he's a Slytherin, as his family were all Ravenclaw, he is proud of his house and often sports green sweaters year round to support them. He does not understand Quidditch but still attends every game. He always wears jeans and Converse sneakers when not in his robes. He has a moon shaped scar on his stomach from a surgery he had in the muggle world when he was 8. He was diagnosed with Depression, Anxiety and Borderline Personality Disorder at the age of 12, and the only cure seems to be going to Hogwarts.

Eli can't decide if he wants to work with creatures or plants when he graduates Hogwarts. There is a Dragon Sanctuary in Romania not too far from his house he is interested in working for.
