Artemis Ray

Backstory

My name is Artemis Ray and I'm a first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. My mom is a pure-blood witch and my dad is muggle-born, so they were expecting my letter to arrive, seeing as they both went to Hogwarts. It was so exciting to get my letter and go to Diagon Alley, and I felt like little sparks were shooting up inside of me like little fireworks! Which is pretty much exactly what my wand did when it chose me. My little sister was ever so jealous when I got my wand, but she'll get to go to Hogwarts next year, so she's fine. As for the wand itself, it's a hybrid of cherry wood and sugar maple, with a core of dragon heartstring. Another work of art by Ollivander's, if I do say so myself! And I do. My parents also bought me a beautifully sleek bengal cat, which I named Gwendolyn. She's turned out to be just as useful as an owl, because she taught herself to apparate, the clever girl! So I guess now I can send messages to any friends I pick up at Hogwarts, and to my family.
On the train ride to the school, I ended up in a compartment with absolutely zero people. Wow. And now, time for me to tell you about the Sorting. For a while, the hat bounced between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, eventually placing me in Ravenclaw. However, I want to try to make friends outside of Ravenclaw, because there is good in all the houses; the Hufflepuffs loyal, the Gryffindors brave, and the Slytherins clever and ambitious like us Ravenclaws. I'm excited to learn and grow here at Hogwarts, and I'm ready to meet new people and make new friends.
