Melrose A. King

Backstory

Melrose Alya King, or Mel as she prefers, was born on a windy October night. Coincidentally, that happened to be the same night as the ever popular and famous 'Halloween' holiday. Her parents were overjoyed, especially her mother. The witch knew right from the start her daughter had inherited her magical gifts. Her father wasn't quite sure, but he knew he loved his wife despite her magic and would love his daughter just the same--probably even more. It really didn't take long for little Melrose's magic to show, and soon enough he mother was teaching her about all sorts of spells she'd eventually learn and all the magical creatures in the world. The creatures Melrose took a strong liking to. When the girl turned 8, her parents (or rather her mother) adopted her a cat. Special one this cat, pure white with striking blue eyes. Paradox was his name--Melrose picked it because it sounded cool from one of her mom's old textbooks. Paradox stuck to Melrose like glue, and when her Hogwarts letter came, he of course wanted to come with. So after a trip to Diagon Alley, where Melrose got her wand (Rowan wood, Unicorn Hair core, 10 1/2 inches and slightly springy), robes, and other essentials, the family were ready for the fateful day. The day when Melrose and Paradox boarded the Hogwarts Express from Platform 9 3/4 to begin their magical adventure. Just before they left, her mother gave Melrose a beautiful leather bound journal with a rose engraved in the front, so that she could record her adventures.
