Backstory
When the Sorting Hat was placed upon my head, it muttered into my mind, picking apart my brain to decide which house I would be placed in. It told me that I am loyal to my friends and family but ambitious about my future. The Hat also spoke about how I was on a lifelong quest for wisdom and because of my thirst for knowledge, it overpowered the possibility I could be sorted into Hufflepuff or Slytherin and so it yelled, “RAVENCLAW!” after a few minutes of contemplating.I enjoy Transfiguration and Charms classes the most because I find them the most useful in my life. My least favorite class has to be History of Magic because of how boring it is.
Both my parents have magic and therefore they prepared me well for Hogwarts. My sister is two years younger than me so I can pass some of my wisdom from my experiences on to her. Despite all my relatives being capable of magic, I am a half-blood because of a distant ancestor who married a muggle a long time ago. My family understands enough about muggles for us to not completely make a fool of ourselves when we have to go into the muggle world, unlike some pure blood families and some half-bloods. We enjoy using muggle technology, especially watching movies and TV shows. Old, classic Disney movies are my favorite.
I was born after He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named rose to power so it didn’t affect me, but my mother and father had friends and family die because of him. My parents made sure to educate me and my sister on how evil he was and what happened because of him.
My greatest strength is being able to soak up knowledge like a sponge. My memory is pretty good so I don’t need to study a lot, but I still like to study to make sure I don’t accidentally forget anything important. My greatest weakness is my anxiety. It’s not severe, but it’s enough to make me question everything around me and to be nervous when I’m near people I don’t know well.
After I finish school, I want to travel the world. I would like to take a few friends with me so we could share the experience and then when we feel like it, settle down together, find jobs, and share the stories and wisdom we got from our travels.
The most fascinating aspect of magic is how unlimited it is. I could even manipulate time if I wanted, how cool is that? I can transfigure objects and summon food whenever I want, and I can apparate almost anywhere.
My family has two pets, a dog and a cat. The dog is a short-haired black mutt named Misty, she acts like a stubborn princess, but I still love her and spoil her even more. She is named after the book “Misty of Chincoteague.” The cat is a short-haired grey Korat. Her name is Salem, named after the black cat in my favorite TV show, “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” (1996), and she is a super sweet and goofy furball. My family also has a few owls for delivering letters. The barn owl is the cutest, she’s named Rusty because of her rust-colored wings. The screech owl is the most recognizable, he’s named Summit because it just seemed to fit him. The dumbest owl we have is a brown owl. He’s known for flying into windows and dropping mail into puddles before we can snag it from him. His name is Stupid. I know, it’s so creative.
There are many secrets in my family but the only one I’m allowed to tell you about is that we are descended from Rowena Ravenclaw, one of the four original founders of Hogwarts. I enjoy talking to the Grey Lady because she has abundant knowledge from spending a long time as a ghost and was Rowena Ravenclaw’s daughter.
