Backstory

I'm muggleborn, and had a lot of catching up to do once I got my letter. It was a shock to my mom and younger brother, Jacob, when we found out, but they were just as amazed as I was when we first got to Diagon Alley. They're really supportive; Mom tries to follow along with my coursework as best she can so she can help me outside of school like she helps my little brother with his math homework. She's much better with math, but it's nice that she tries. On the other hand, part of me thinks Jacob is only so supportive because he likes all the chocolate frogs I send home. I think he's also hoping he'll get a letter one day. He's only seven right now, so it'll be a few more years till we find out. When I finally got to Hogwarts, I was sorted into Gryffindor, but only after the sorting hat took some time considering Ravenclaw as well. My favorite class so far has to be Charms! I love learning all about spells we can perform. And I can't stand Potions. It's a lot like the science classes that I took prior to getting my letter, and I just never quite understood all the different components that goes into an experiment. However, Potions or not, I love being at Hogwarts. I'm still not sure what I want to do post-graduation, but I'm thinking about maybe being an Auror (even if it means that I have to suffer through Potions), or maybe even a professor myself! Either way, I can't wait to see where these next few years lead me!
