Backstory

I may only be a first year, but I have been studying spells since I was old enough to understand what magic was. I come from a long line of proud spell researchers. My family has been researching spells for over a millennium. We research existing spells for three reasons: 1. To discover new uses for the spells. 2. To discover new variations of the spells. 3. To discover new spells that could be useful to all magical communities. We don’t just study spells in the United Kingdom. My family travels all over the world, studying the spells of other cultures. There are so many useful things to learn from other cultures. Lingual histories, connections between the incantation and effect of a spell, that wonderful feeling when a spell is born. Although I am not familiar with that last one yet. My parents say that I have to wait until I am 17 before I can start down that path.
