Backstory

I'm originally from the states. My mother is a Muggle from New York and my father a Wizard from Bristol. However, they divorced and dad went back to England. When the time came, I received a letter from both Hogwarts and Ilvermorny. I tried Ilvermorny out for a couple years (go Thunderbirds) but while I loved how much more democratically minded, Hogwarts had a history and feel that Ilvermorny. just doesn't seem to have. Plus it's fun being the American kid. (It was also entertaining to be the only third year participating in the sorting hat ceremony. Gooooo Hufflepuff!)

When away from school, I live with my mom in America. I have lots of Muggle friends, and prior to Ilvermorny and Hogwarts, I was going to Muggle school. Growing up just after the second wizarding war is a mix of frightening and hopeful. Yes, we were no longer under the horrific reign of the Death Eaters, and that's such a good thing. However, some of the anti-muggle teachings the they tried to instill penetrated the perception of many wizards who had little contact with muggles. And frankly... even those who do.

My dream is to become a Muggle Studies Teacher. I really enjoy comparing my two worlds, Muggle and Wizard. I enjoy completing tasks without magic like cleaning or painting. And I love adding a little low key sparkle to my Muggle life. (very very VERY low key. No law breaking here) And it fascinates me how two completely different people groups could unknowingly influence and shape each other's histories for thousands of years. I want to educate on our similarities more than our differences and emphasize that we wouldn't be where we are today without Muggle influence and vice versa. There's still a fear of and need to be hidden away from the Muggle world. I'd like to help end that wall of separation, if only just a little bit.
