Backstory

I am a first year student at Hogwarts. My dad is a wizard who works as a magizoologist with a special focus in magical marine life. During an assignment in the Caribbean he fell in love with a mermaid and they had me. Once my mom gave birth, my half-breed nature was discovered and her relationship with my dad was found out. Mermaids are forbidden to love humans under the Order of Triton. My mother was sentenced to death. The last time she saw my father was to get me safely into my his arms, knowing it was the only way to keep me safe. I never got to meet my mom and my dad in his grief rarely talks about her. I understand why but I wish I knew more about her. There's so much about my mermaid nature that I wish I could ask her, so many memories I will never get to share with her. Because of my parents interspecies relationship, I have the ability to shape shift into a mermaid but most of my life is spent in my human form. During my free time at Hogwarts you’ll likely find me taking a swim in the Black Lake. I am good friends with the creatures there and I often wonder if I will follow in my fathers footsteps or forge my own path.
