Backstory

I grew up in a tight knit family including my father, half-blood and Hufflepuff, my mother, Ravenclaw and prue blood, and my twin sister, who is a Ravenclaw. My parents couldn't conceive naturally so asked a close Slytherin friend of theirs to donate so my sister and I can speak parseltongue. My sister and I met him once when we were young, but dont have a strong connection with him. Before my sister and I left for Hogwarts at the age of 11, our parents had gone missing and we were placed in the care of our aunt on our mother's side, my mother's side of the family is obsessed with pure bloodlines. For 3 months, we were kept in the basement of our aunt and uncle and escaped 2-weeks before school started. When we left, we broke into our old home and packed small bags with basic survival items, our parents Gringotts key, our Hogwarts letter, and some of our parents special tokens. I took my father;s old journal, as you can write in it and it will give you the answers it knows, my father's wand, and a quilt that when you wrap yourself in it can; adjust to accommodate more people with it, constantly smells of baked cookies, and can act as a temporary shield against some weather conditions. My sister took my mother's time turner, her wand, and her map of the Restricted Section of the Hogwarts library. From there, we traveled to Gringotts in Diagon Alley to hopefully purchase our school items. Luckily, our parents put aside money for us when the time came to go to school. It has been 3-months since we broke out of that hell hole and we're having a hard time adjusting. For instance, I much prefer plants and animals to people but at this point the only person I feel I can speak to is my sister, so instead I talk, out loud, to my plants and creatures. My sister, on the other hand, is so nose deep into books she doesn't fully adhere to social norms, even benign things. An example of this would be, if she thinks you are a moron, she will stand up in class, interrupt the prof and proclaim that you are a moron and sit back down. At this point, she just lives in detention, so I bring her and the prof cookies or snacks until she can leave. At this point, my sister and I havent told the staff about our parents but we are not sure when it comes time to leave Hogwarts for the summer.
