Name - Mira "Paradox" Nightshade (Nickname was given to her by herself)

Special Skills/Abilites - Parseltounge, Seeing eye, Nuncimperium (The ability to speed up/slow down time to an extent [Ex. Making a boring lecture go just a bit faster] or stop it completely [But this exhausts her rapidly and puts a lot of strain on her mind]) Although she avoids using these as much as possible.

Appearance - Mira is a tall, thin individual. She has dark red hair with bright green streaks, and rather pale skin with a small scar on her right cheek. Her left eye is a dark, steely gray, while her right eye is an off-white glass eye. She has a birthmark on her lower back in the shape of an hourglass.

Personality - Rather cunning and witty, Mira is known to be corrective of others mistakes and often had a sharp retort in return if anyone says anything even semi-rude. She's surprisingly non-confrontational when it comes to duelling, but won't back down from a fight if necessary. Mira is very secluded and feels more comfortable when alone or with a few people. She is known to be INCREDIBLY sarcastic as well. Mira very rarely gets flustered, but will begin to act nervous and off around someone she's attracted to. Mira is also known to be quite bossy when in a group of friends, often trying hard to take the lead in situations.

Backstory - Mira Nightshade is the only adopted member of the bold and noble Nightshade family, making her stand out among the crowd. She was adopted by Daryl Nightshade, a haughty, cruel man with a hatred for muggles. When Daryl was arrested for assaulting a group of muggles, she was sent to a wizarding orphanage, as her other family members would not take her in.

The Nightshades, centuries ago, had a long-standing rivalry with the Hornbeam family. You see, while the Hornbeams despised muggleborns, the Nightshades sympathized with them. Daryl was born around the same time as Draco Malfoy, even attending Hogwarts at the same time, but was expelled in his third year for attacking a muggleborn student. Daryl had a sister by the name of Laura, who was killed by Felix Hornbeam, a Death Eater, while Lord Voldemort was in control. Daryl, stricken by grief, managed to get a hold of a Time-Turner, and went back in time and killed Felix's grandfather, preventing Felix from every having been born. But, unfortunately, as Daryl was fleeing back into the future, the grandfather's youngest daughter, the mere age of 4, grabbed him by the arm and was pulled into the future with him. Much to his surprise, she did not disappear in the time rift, and appeared with him at his doorstep. Daryl was frustrated by the situation, but could not do anything about it, taking her in as his own child. Her name was Mira Hornbeam, but he changed her last name to match his own, and Daryl told the rest of his family she was a Muggleborn in a feeble attempt to smother his hatred for them, but this did not work. Mira was given the strange mark during the time change, alongside her new ability. She is seen as a freak in her family and by her adoptive brother, Johnathan, as they assume she is like her father and hates muggles, although Johnathan is the one who despises them like his father, and thus is sent to an orphanage every summer to stay there rather than go home.

Mira discovered at the age of 9 that she was a Half-Blood, but did not tell anyone else about this.
