Welcome to the Autumn Circus darling. We've costumes and candies and creepies galore. Every day is Halloween, but I'm not playing dress-up as a witch.

I am a Conservative Jewish muggle-born witch in Slytherin house, and Hogwarts needs to bloody well get itself a kosher kitchen. I am tired of having to conjure my own food. In completely unrelated news, I'm a third year and I'm really good at charms.
In other aspects of my existence, I have found my fellow Slytherins to be lovely people. Aside from a couple of early instances of pureblood supremacist nastiness they've all been welcoming and friendly, if a bit... competitive. The pureblood idiots backed off when I had a talk with them, and just to make sure they got the point they later found two of my favorite ball pythons, Spot and Saffron, on their pillows. Now, ball pythons are really rather friendly and laid back snakes, but they can look very ferocious to somebody who's already had some sort of... suggestion planted in their ear.
I've also found that the Ravenclaws are mostly excellent company, although none of them ever want to talk about my plans for destroying the world, which is a shame. Still, I suppose they'll live through the coming viral apocalypse. I'm developing a vaccine right now.
I'm also very good at Muggle Studies, but I sometimes have to correct the teacher! My favorite class is potions, and the potions master is teaching me virology on the side! Remember that impending viral apocalypse? Yeah...
I am utterly fascinated by the ways magic can combine with muggle knowledge and science. In addition, I really love anthropology, and I've been wondering lately how exactly magic fits in to muggle mythology.
Above all else I am a Halloween girl of the highest order. Every day is Halloween and every month is coming up on Autumn. There are crows in the corn, the Scarecrow has left his post, and the Great Pumpkin is coming for you all. If you listen carefully on October nights, you can sometimes hear the leaves falling. They sound like bats. If you listen correctly on October nights, you can sometimes hear the monsters. The sound like Autumn leaves.
My name's Janice. Maybe I'll see you around.
