Backstory
Lena comes from an all-Muggle Italian family, but the magical ancestry arrives from both her father's and her mother's side, resulting in quite strong magic for her and her younger brother. As the eldest, she was the first one (even among her cousins, who all turned out to be magical) to receive her Hogwarts letter— she also did receive one from Beauxbatons, which is closer in location to Italy, but ultimately decided to pack her bags and fly with her parents to London to buy her wand (phoenix feather, ashwood, hardly flexible, 12 and ¾ inches) and catch the Hogwarts Express. At Hogwarts she was sorted in Slytherin House (but the Sorting Hat did take quite some time, as it was very caught up between Slytherin and Ravenclaw), much changed from the way it was during the Second Wizarding War— Lena's blood status as Muggleborn caused her no problems in making friends and emerging as a very brilliant and talented witch, as well as the Prefect for her House and eventually Head Girl. Today, she is as fiercely protective of Slytherin House as she is of Muggleborns. Her studies at Hogwarts ended with more than ten N.E.W.T.s, and in the few months that followed, she was contacted by the Daily Prophet, which offered her a position as a reporter after Lena had expressed interest in pursuing a journalistic career during her interviews at Hogwarts. Lena accepted, and five years later she is one the Prophet's main reporters on current wizarding news, working at the main office in Diagon Alley. Due to her Muggle-born status, she also contributes to one of the paper's columns, titled "What Is This Muggle Contraption Again?", which is dedicated to explaining various aspects of the Muggle world to wizards.
She currently resides with her cats, Min, Joon and Hobi (she accidentally turned Joon blue during her third year at Hogwarts) in a nice two-stories house in Camden Town, London. Other things you might want to know about her: her Patronus takes the form of a big wildcat, and her Boggart would generally turn into a character from a children's book her mother used to read to her— the Black Rabbit of Inlé from Watership Down, which represents Death. She's an avid supporter of the Holyhead Harpies Quidditch Team but always cheers the Italian national team during the European and World Cups.
