Backstory

I'm a half-blood witch in my first year as a Ravenclaw at Hogwarts. Currently, my favourite subjects are Charms and Transfiguration and I'm looking forward most to Care of Magical Creatures and Apparition. I'm taking Magical Theory as an extra-curricular subject, in the hopes of figuring out how to become an Animagus, just like my childhood heroes, the Marauders. I'm using my mum's old Hogwarts robes (thank God she was a Ravenclaw as well!) and other school supplies, as my dad is the sole jobholder (he runs a veterinary clinic from home, occasionally with the magical help of my mum, who learned some healing magic for that very purpose) and he's paid in Muggle money... which the goblins at Gringotts are trying to convert as we speak. Luckily, my godmother, aunt Altera, who is a Metamorphmagus, a true trickster and by far the best witch in the family, bought me my own wand, as she says even she never could've learned magic as well with a wand that hadn't chosen her, and I'm very grateful for it. I really hope I have her knack for magic, though I'm no Metamorphmagus. I also brought my owl Ga'Hoole and my collection of Chocofrog cards. I'm very curious as to how Muggle history is reflected upon, intertwined with and connected to what we'll learn in History of Magic, but I'm pretty nervous about the practical part of Defence Against the Dark Arts and Flying... Of course, I've flown my broom in our backyard, but my feet have never been over a foot above the ground as to not bob my head over the fence and risk the muggle neighbours seeing, and now I'll have to use a standard school broom instead, too! I'll put on a brave face anyways though, because I won't risk being bullied anymore, since I'm finally not the odd one out anymore because of my magic. Well, that's it for now, time for class!
