Born on December 15th , 2004 in Chéticamp, Nova Scotia, Canada, Alessandria "Alex" Pelletier is no stranger to magic, which is why it surprises people when she tells them she’s actually a Muggle-born. Although her parents don’t have magical abilities, her 22-year old sister Cassandra does, so Alex knew exactly what to expect when she got her Hogwarts letter. As a child, even before she found out about her magical powers, she read almost all of Cassandra’s old textbooks, and looked at her perform magic (once it was legal, of course). When she wasn’t reading old textbooks, she read Muggle books, went skiing in the winter, or skated. Before she made the choice to go to Hogwarts, Alex wanted to attend Branksome Hall in Toronto, and then go to Stanford University in Palo Alto. From there, she would go the John Hopkins Medical School before becoming an intensivist.

Alex had her whole life planned out, but even though her sister was a witch, she never accounted for the fact that she might be too. Consequently, with everything going so well, Alex was very conflicted when she got her Hogwarts letter. However, her parents (and sister) convinced her that she could still pursue what she wanted as long as she took classes in the summer, and that Hogwarts grades could be used as credits. In a rather humorous turn of events, since she has gone to Hogwarts, Alex seems much more interested in having a magical career as a healer, while introducing advanced Muggle medical technologies to the Wizarding World.

Back at home, Alex developed a passion for figure skating. She also quite enjoys writing essays. In the future, she plans to take the SATs while she is on break so that she can still have the option of having a Muggle career.

Alex’s father is Acadian, and her mother is Chinese. She remains a Christian.
