Backstory

The day I received my acceptance letter to Hogwarts was the best and worst day of my life. Now I am not related to Hermoine in any way in fact I didn't know who she was until a few years ago. When my parents called my name saying I got a letter I thought they were pranking me for I have no friends. So who could have sent me a letter I wondered. Was it my grandma and grandpa no it couldn't be they were in Brazil for the weekend. Then who could it be? I cautiously took the letter from my mom and looked at the address sure enough there was my name Amethyst Granger and my address 1427 Rosetop Hollow. I couldn't understand what this meant. I flipped the envelope over to see a strange seal. This seal said Hogwarts I had never heard of Hogwarts. So I couldn't wait any longer and I opened the envelope there I read

Dear Ms Granger

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.
Term begins on September 1. We await your owl by no later than July 31.

Witchcraft and Wizardry I thought wait does that mean I'm a witch? "Mom!!" I screamed she came running to me "What's wrong dear?" I just burst out and ask "Am I a witch?" My mother gasped "How did you find out?" She looks down at my letter. "Oh I see you have been accepted to Hogwarts." So she told me all about wizards and magic and that she was a muggle and my dad is a wizard. I was so surprised. Well I'm starting Hogwarts soon so off to Diagon Alley we go.
