Backstory
I was born in a non-magical family in America. Neither one of my parents, or anyone in my family for that matter, had any experience with magic. As a toddler, I could make things fall off the shelves when I was upset. My parents just thought I had a loud scream! Then on the morning of my 5th birthday, my brother Adam started teasing me. I accidently turned his hair green. I can still see the look on his face! He ran and got my parents, and they couldn't believe I had done it. Neither could I, really. At first I was laughing, but then I couldn't turn it back. I started crying and saying I was sorry. My parents hurried out to buy hair dye to cover it for the party. The next day they took me straight to the doctor who then told my parents about his uncle who was a wizard. He gave them a way to contact him, and made them promise never to tell anyone about the conversation. The doctor's uncle, who's name I still don't know, was able to turn my brother's hair back to normal. I lived a somewhat normal life after that. There were a few major mishaps that happened, but luckily none that ever affected anyone outside of my family. The doctor's uncle confirmed that I had magical ability, but he said we would have to wait until I received word from Ilvermorny to know for sure. However, when I was 10, my dad's work moved us to London. I was devasted that I would not be able to attend Ilvermorny. Shortly after the move, though, I received my letter from Hogwarts as well as a visit from the Headmistress. I didn't realize that I had been holding my breath, hoping that my magical abilities were actually true and not something crazy. I was so relieved after the visit.
My parents and I headed to Diagon Alley a few weeks before my first term at Hogwarts began. My parents were amazed at the wizarding shops and supplies there! The first item to get was a wand. When I fingered the 10 3/4" unicorn core laurel wand, I finally felt in control. I could feel the magic tingling at my fingertips. We headed off to get the rest of my school supplies. After looking around in Quality Quidditch Supplies, my dad became a huge fan. Now he secretly follows the English national team.
On September 1st, I made it onto Platform 9 3/4 (I was so nervous it wouldn't work!), and here I am! I'm very excited to learn all I can about magic!
