Backstory

It had been the holiday break where all the students could either stay in the castle or leave and go back to their families for the holidays. I had decided to go back to my family in this time and spend the holidays with them. It had been a full moon I had finally settled down in the large house, the lights in the rooms steadily turning off one by one. Everyone soon started to fall asleep, I was the last to fall to the depths of sleep. Which was why I was able to hear a slight scuffling outside. Paranoid, I huddled myself deeper into my blankets. My dad had always told me that it was just rats on the roof and one time he showed me proof, much to my disgust. But I didn't know just how wrong he was in this moment when I heard something push open my door. I went still, my blood running cold but my heart beating a mile a minute as my ears strained to hear. I heard claws clacking over the tile as whatever it was that was outside my room entered it. The claws soon muffled by the carpet but I could hear a soft snuffling before it stopped and a low growling took its place. I don't know what pulled me to look but I ever so slightly peaked over my blankets only to find myself frozen in fear. A large pitch black wolf was staring me down. It was huge, huger than any wolf I've ever seen. Bright yellow eyes were narrowed in my direction as white fangs shown in the pale light from the moon and stars outside. I screamed just as the wolf lunged at me, large jaws opened before snapping down on my leg, the canines sinking through the blankets and my clothes to pierce themselves into my calf. I started screaming again but this time in agony. My screaming had woken up my parents and they came running into my room with their wands at the ready. At hearing the sound of more people the wolf had let go of my leg too instead face the intruders. My parents stopped at the threshold of my room with looks of horror and fear on their faces but before a grim determination had set upon their faces the large wolf lunged and managed to get its jaws around my father's neck, easily crushing his jugular in his jaws. My mom had flinched before she quickly shot a spell that sent the wolf flying into the wall, stunning it but she thought that it had been knocked out. She took a look at me before quickly rushing over and hugged me tightly, tears streaming down her face. Our hug hadn't lasted long however as the wolf soon got up and started growling. My mom quickly looked up before she got up and told me to get up and to get out of here, now! I hadn't ran so fast in all my life as I did in that moment. My leg burned in agony but the adrenaline coursing through me just sped me up and made me run faster. It wasn't until the Headmaster appeared in front of me, causing me to crash into him. He managed to somehow lighten the fall and just held onto me. I was sobbing, hugging him tightly. My leg burned and my parents were dead. A wizard soon came over to the two of use and bent down to whisper something in his ear. A nod and we left the area.

It had been a while after the incident that I felt my leg burning ever so slightly, an unpleasant feeling. I hadn't realized that the wolf had been a werewolf and that I had gotten infected when it bit me. No one had told me. Which was why I found myself in a very compromising situation. I knew that the day was a full moon but I didn't pay it any mind, I didn't think I would need to. But as I wandered the halls back to my dorm I felt a crawling in my skin. It itched and burned and I felt my mind slipping. I started to panic and quickly fled to the nearest bathroom but instead found myself outside. I looked up at the moon before I felt a strong sense of vertigo and collapsed, gasping in pain. My mind slipped further before it just seemed like I was taking a backseat drive in my consciousness. I soon turned into a large wolf as well, so very similar to the one that had appeared at my home in that short time frame ago. Then everything went dark.

I don't know how it happened or what happened. But I had somehow still managed to stay in Hogwarts though I had a feeling that my time here is running short. The potions teacher kept brewing me a potion every month and told me to drink it. At first I had questioned him but he just snapped back and I flinched down but did as asked. In the times that I had changed I noticed that I was feeling a lot clearer headed and not how it was the first time. It was then that in the next day that I researched what potion it was that I was being given, since the potion's teacher was still being cagey, before I found it. Wolfsbane Potion. A potion that can relieve the symptoms of lycanthropy, it cannot cure it however. I wasn't supposed to skip a dose however and the time that I did had ended up being the day of the full moon. I was with a friend who didn't know of my plight and we had been walking through the hallways back to the Hufflepuff tower. I was just about to tell them that I needed to go when I felt it. My friend had been concerned for me and stayed despite my warnings against it. Then it happened, I snapped and lunged at her, turning into a wolf mid leap but was soon shot back by a spell. My brain had been fuzzy, close to what had happened the first time and I couldn't seem to get a grip on my mind. My friend had been standing there shocked and wide eyed as the potion's teacher stood between her and me. My wolf mind stood back up and shook itself off before looking over at the potion's teacher and started growling. It soon stopped however and turned to a low whine, I didn't realize that it was me doing that. But what I was seeing looked so close to what had happened back at home... I fled. Pelting through the castle despite the voice calling out to me. A professor soon found me again and I told them my decision.

I would leave Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It isn't safe for me to be there, I don't want anyone else facing the same thing that I am. The professor that found me had a sad look on her face but told me that she will respect my decision, before then asking. Where would I go? I had no idea... who would take in someone who was a werewolf...? She soon said that she may know someone but she didn't know if they were around still...

And that was how I found myself, leaving Hogwarts behind me and following along behind an old student of Hogwart's as well, Remus Lupin. The professor had told me that he had the exact same problem that I did and made the same choice. But however he can help me through this time as well.

(Her mom had named her Draco due to the constellations that had appeared in the sky. It had also been because of her affinity with dragons when she was little. Her patronus is a dragon and she has a dragons heartstring for a core in her English Oak wand.)
