Backstory

My name is Arianne Elizabeth Torchwick. A pure blood, thus born with both parents in the magic world. As a child I enjoyed a simple existance, with my father ressearching flora in the local woods, and my mother looking after me. In my earlier years, I was known to be a bit secluded, not showing my feelings or piling them up. Why I did this I don't know anymore, as it was most likely a childish impulse. But as a result to this, my father once came home with a special plant he found, which he used to make a potion. When I asked him what it was for, he told me that it would help me with my feelings. So when I was sound asleep, they dipped a small bit of my hair into the newly brewn potion, coloring it a metalic blue. As I woke up the next morning, finding this, I went to ask why a part of my hair was blue. My father smiled, telling me that it was special. He showed me, as my mother would walk behind me, tickling my sides. As I laughed, the blue hair turned a sunny yellow. When I got angry at mother for doing this, my hair responded by turning a dark red. I frowned. My parents laughed, and despite not wanting to admit it, it seemed like a logical solution.

In my later years, before I went to school I had an encounter with a werewolf. I didn't just stumble onto it of course. No, I saw a man outside, late in the evening. My parents were out to get some supplies, as the winter was getting closer, and it would get really cold the next day. As I looked closer, I saw the man was crying. He was wrapped in a ragged cloth, seeming in complete distress. I took my cup of hot chocolate, got some bread on a plate, and walked outside. I was about eight years old. As I got closer, the man looked up. He backed off, but then saw that I was merely a girl. He seemed to calm down. I shared some food with him, and even brought him a nice blanket. The man seemed rather happy, yet still anxious. And I was about to find out why. As we talked, the moon slowly crept up into the sky, revealing it to be full. The man stopped talking. I tried to find out what was wrong, yet he did not answer. He started to twitch, and seemingly... grow. I cried out in fear as I ran away, as fast as I could. Mom and dad were nowhere near. I got to the door as I heard a blood curdling howl. Then I heard quick movement of paws on the ground, and growls getting closer. I closed the door. What happened next I cannot remember. I had passed out as I saw it's face break trough the door. Then it all went white.

People describe me as confident. As a tomboy, and a strong willed girl. This is good, because I try hard to be this. I find interest in studies, as they take up long parts of my day. Various studies, ranging from fauna, to weapons, to spells. Before I got to attend to Hogwarts I actually knew a lot of spells already. Practicing was harder though. I ended up stealing my mother's wand. This did not allways go all right. Especially when she caught onto me.

When I turned eleven I got my letter to Hogwarts. My parents were not surprised, but I was. But I was mostly happy. The place we lived in wasn't too lively, so I was looking forward to meeting other people. And of course, to learn more than I could have at home.
