Backstory

I had no way of knowing for sure that magic existed in the world until I got my Hogwarts letter. Of course, weird things had happened before, like that time I fell out of a tree and cut myself, and then it healed up as quick as it happened. And the various Christmas dinner accidents that my family had no problem sweeping under the rug. But when I visited Diagon Alley with my father, it felt as though a piece of my life had been lost under the bed my whole life, and I had finally crawled under there to find it. The idea of magic actually existing in the world is enough to excite me, let alone the fact that I can contribute to it and be a part of the magical community.
I was sorted into Slytherin pretty much immediately - most likely because I myself have identified ambition and the determination to do anything to achieve my goal as key traits. Being a Muggle-born in Slytherin has led to some harsh comments but for the most part everyone seems to tiptoe around their prejudices in the wake of the latest war. For the most part, the opposition and negativity is a great motivation to perform at my best - basically to show those purebloods all up. Of course, it is mostly the other houses that make these comments anyway.
The classes I like the most so far are ones where I can understand them because of my Muggle knowledge, such as Astronomy and Herbology. Since I have a basic sort of foundation with this knowledge, it encourages me to explore the magical depths of these subjects.
My greatest strength is probably the essays, though I don't like them. I love exploring my knowledge of a subject this way, but I prefer practical application, and I am really good at making connections between two practices.
After I graduate Hogwarts, I either want to become an Auror, or a professor, or like, go to university. I think I might just travel for a bit, get used to all the magic in the world. I want to see the dragons.
