Backstory
Growing up as a muggle born in America wasn't easy, especially with the home and social life I had, but when Hagrid requested I come to Hogwarts, I was more than excited to start a whole new life. I always knew I was different, but I was never sure what specifically: my outgoing personality, my love for art and life, my need for reading, my desperation for adventure... Everything changed when I went to Hogwarts. Not only did I bring bits of muggle life with me (i.e. books, music, my laptop, old pictures...), but I did everything I could to learn more and more about the wizarding world. Hagrid was like a father to me, so I would usually help him with his animals. If I wasn't with Hagrid, I was assisting other teachers or reading in the library. The smell of old wood and hints of cinnamon still bring me back to the endless nights of reading and studying. I wasn't the most popular person at school, but I did have my group of friends; Neville, Luna, and the Weasley twins were my closest friends, but I sometimes hung out with Harry, Ron, and Hermione (she and I would study together and talk about anything and everything). The thing I loved the most, however, was the food hall. So much food of all sorts. All the time. I was lucky to have a banana for breakfast at home and rice at lunch, but at Hogwarts, I was never hungry. I was at dinner one night, and someone asked me what I'm going to do out of school, and I realized I didn't know. I seeked advice from my newfound "family", and after quite a while, I realized what I wanted: spells. A flick of the wand or hands, silk words slipping from my mouth (or not), and feeling the magic flow right through me was something I wanted to experience as much as I could. If I'm not reading or assisting (or getting into mischief...), I'm practicing spells and learning as much as possible.
