Backstory

I was born in a muggle family and I'm the second of four girls. I never knew anything about the magical world and would never have believed it before finding my letter. I received my letter quite late. My parents hired a wizard to hide our invitations each year my sisters and I were invited to Hogwarts. I don't know what they paid or how it was accomplished, but they were able to prevent Hogwarts from knowing about us for years. My sisters and I found the letters as adults. We thought they were a joke until we all started getting owls with additional letters at all hours of the day and night. Finally I decided to try to follow the directions in the letter out of desperation to stop the owls.

When I arrived in London and found Diagon Alley I was amazed that the letters were no joke. My sisters decided to decline the letters, but I've always been curious. I had to find out more.

The headmaster was quite surprised to see an adult first year and I was immediately escorted to his office. After hearing my story and looking at the letters I had brought with me (I only brought a couple dozen of the ones I had received) he decided to allow me to attend. In order to look like I fit in with the other first year students he youthened me to 11 years old. It feels really strange being a kid again, especially since my 11 year old triplets were invited this year as well. He is introducing us as a set of quadruplets although he actually youthened me to exactly 11 and my triplets are 11 1/2, so they are apparently older than me now. (Something they love to point out!) The headmaster explained my adult appearance on arrival as a prank my "siblings" pulled on me that none of us knew how to counter.

I missed seeing the sorting hat ceremony, and was brought into the Great Hall midway through dinner. They brought the sorting hat out and called me forward. I looked through the crowd looking for my kids. I hoped we could all be in the same house, then I spotted one daughter in Ravenclaw, Beth, and one in Gryffindor, Phoebe. I couldn't see my son, Elwen, anywhere. Then looked through Slytherin, not expecting to find him, but there he was. I was kind of shocked due to the reputation of that particular house. I hoped my son got there due to his ambitious attitude rather than some pull he may have felt for the Dark Arts. Well, at least I had a 3 in 4 chance of being in a house with one of them.

My name was called again and I realized I hadn't moved. I came forward and they lifted the hat over my head. Before it was even put on my head the hat screamed out "Hufflepuff!!" The whole hall went silent. There were no cheers or even whispers, just dead silence. Quadruplets sorted into four separate houses. It was unheard of. Then the whispers began and grew into a roar as I worked my way to the Hufflepuff table. My time at Hogwarts has begun.
