Backstory

(1 year before Hogwarts-- written about the past ) I was younger, but old enough to know that I was different. Of course, I did not have the means to prove that just yet, but I knew my family was seen as rather "odd." The manor brought a chilling atmosphere when our parents were off doing business. My older brother Cayden and I took the opportunity to run free. Although we were far away, and slightly forbidden to appear in muggle cities by our parents, what we did when they were not there was none of their business. The way we dressed, the way we acted, the way we did things constantly received stares by the other muggles. We were disciplined in a certain manner that others were not. As we got older, it was harder to visit because my parents were home more often. My brother tried to force magic out of me while pranking me, and my parents were constantly nervous and frustrated towards me when I could not produce signs of magic as early as Calder did. Needless to say, it was not the most pleasant childhood.

(1 year before Hogwarts) Calder brought a friend home one day. It was his best friend at Hogwarts. Although they were going to be 3rd years and I still had a year to go before I went to Hogwarts, I have never met any of his friends. He was a very nice, kind gentleman who was very friendly, yet extremely clumsy. Needless to say, he was not careful, thus bringing my first sign of magical ability. How? I will leave that a mystery. However, it did bring joy to him, as well as to myself, my brother, and mother. However, my father? He still was convinced it came too late, and regardless of the signs I had shown, he did not seem to approve.

(1 month before Hogwarts) When I first received my Hogwarts letter on that beautiful day, I knew what was coming. As a pure-blood, I knew all about Hogwarts from Calder. He always wrote to me and told me everything I needed to know as a student. I remember my very first time at Diagon Alley shopping for my OWN Hogwarts supplies as if it were just yesterday (well that's because it was)! I have been here plenty of times before, but this was the first time the supplies were for myself. The satisfaction of having a wonderful wand, brand new books, a beautiful snowy owl, and other supplies, really brought joy into my eyes. On September 1st, when I get on that train to Hogwarts, I know I am in for a life to remember.
