Backstory
While I wasn't brought up by my own parents, I always retained my surname at birth. I was brought up by a family who were very strict about the pureblood ideals. However, as I got older, I realized the ideals my 'family' held were inherently wrong. I started to go my own way, and it resulted in much ire and punishment from my family, but I stood strong anyway. Regardless of this, I would do almost anything for my family. I love them despite their prejudices. At Hogwarts, I was able to believe in my own ideals openly and still have many close friends who I love dearly. I am still finding my way as a pureblood who doesn't support most pureblood values, but I have the confidence to stay firm. Of course, sometimes a little acting is needed to get around certain situations, but even my friends understand.I am a Slytherin, and I am proud of my house regardless of the stereotypes of the values of this house. I see things changing as the years go on, and I have confidence that there will be a complete turnaround one day.
