Backstory
I own a lovely little bookshop in Hogsmeade. My collection consists mainly of antique and second-hand books, but I try to always have a nice stack of all popular textbooks and other interesting non-fiction books to sell to Hogwarts student and professors. It is not the job I always dreamed of, but nevertheless I am very happy with my life as it is. Somewhere deep inside I still regret not pursuing Care of Magical Creatures at Hogwarts so I could fulfill my dream of becoming a magical equinologist or a professional winged horse racer. My life would definitely be a little more exciting, but then again, I'm not sure if I was really made for an exciting life.My grandfather was a member of the Black family, but he broke ties with them and left England many years ago to marry a Muggle girl in Belgium. My parents were both magical, so my brother and I grew up in a magical household, but since we lived in a Muggle neighbourhood, we were no strangers to their habits either. When I was 11 I went to Hogwarts, because there were no magical secondary schools in Belgium, and I was sorted into Hufflepuff. I was an average student. I wanted to learn a lot, but when the time came to study, I always found ways to distract myself. My favourite subjects were Ancient Runes, Arithmancy, Astronomy, Transfiguration and Magical Literature.
I make a little extra money by translating texts and runic scripts when it's quiet in the shop, and I'm currently writing a science fiction novel as well, but the perfectionist in me is preventing it from being published any time soon. In my spare time I ride and take care of my winged mare Freya. She's a crossbreed between a Granian and an Icelandic Pony. I also have two cats named Lindy and Lucy, who roam around in the shop begging pets from visitors, and a pet goat wether named Spot, who was bottlefed and raised by me because he was an orphan.
