If you roam the muggle book of faces, feel free to send me a friend request on Facebook so you can contact me via owl that way. All those owls are sent to my Hogsmeade residence, and thus I can answer a lot more timely. You can also visit my new refurbished office near the forest, which was formerly known as the Care of Magical Creatures classroom. I’m still moving in, so don’t mind the slight mess!
Biography
Helen grew up as a single child in Ireland. She lived there with her muggle parents a few years before her 11th birthday as they migrated to Scotland for work. On her 11th birthday, a woman who claimed to be the headmistress of a magical school for witches and wizards stood at her home’s doorstep. Initially, Helen’s parents were skeptical of this school, but eventually gave into her invitation to Hogwarts.
During her time at Hogwarts, the muggle born student naturally gravitated to the study of magical creatures, alongside the subjects which complement it. She met her partner while attending the school, a student who was a part of the slytherin house. After seven long years of studying at Hogwarts, Helen achieved her NEWTs in five subjects, receiving Os in both Care of Magical Creatures and Herbology.
As for her post Hogwarts education, Helen went on to study at the Institute of Magical Law, obtaining her Bachelor of Criminal Defense with a particular focus in magical creatures. This led to her position in the ministry of magic where she defended magical creatures against The Committee for the Disposal of Dangerous Creatures.
Professor Montclam has since returned to Hogwarts as the Care of Magical Creatures professor, which is a role that she always dreamed of holding. She now resides in Hogsmeade with her partner and array of magical pets.
Fun Facts
During her time at school, Helen ditched a few of her astronomy classes for the sake of sneaking into the Care of Magical Creatures classroom. She was caught a few times and lost her house quite a few points.
Helen originally had an otter as her patronus, but it has since transformed into her partner’s patronus of a phoenix.
