Backstory

Hey Everyone! I am Juliet Rosewood.

I was born on a snowy day in December, to a brave couple of pure-blood wizards.

My parents, Arthur and Evelyn Rosewood, were both former Gryffindors who became Aurors after graduating from Hogwarts, and they were very adventurous for their daughter (they say). I grew up in a charming flat in Diagon Alley, surrounded by shops and people. I really loved to play quidditch with my mother, who was a chaser for the Holyhead Harpies, and to learn defence against the dark arts and care of magical creatures with my father, who was a specialist in both fields. I am really thankful to god for such nice parents.

I LOVE THEM!

They say that, I am a very kind and cheerful child, who always have a smile for everyone. I have a gift for quidditch and defence against the dark arts, and I often surprise my parents with my ability. I still have a friendly and outgoing personality, and I made friends easily with both wizards and creatures. I was especially fond of the house-elves and goblins that worked in Diagon Alley, and I would often chat with them and help them out.

As I grew older, my parents began preparing me for my time at Hogwarts. They shared stories of their own school days—tales of bravery, daring, and loyalty from their time in Gryffindor. Naturally, everyone expected me to follow in their footsteps. But from a young age, I always felt there was something... different about me.

When the time came, my Hogwarts letter arrived on a crisp morning in late July. I was thrilled! My parents took me to Diagon Alley to get my school supplies, where we spent hours picking out my wand (11 ½ inches, Aspen wood with a unicorn core and unbending flexibility), my first set of robes, and all the required books. My heart raced with excitement and anticipation.

The train ride to Hogwarts was unforgettable. I met so many fascinating people—each with their own quirks and stories. But deep down, I was nervous about the Sorting Hat. Where would I belong?

The moment finally arrived. Sitting on the stool with the Sorting Hat atop my head, I felt a flutter of excitement and uncertainty. The hat hummed thoughtfully for a moment before speaking directly to me:

"Ah, what a complex mind we have here. Kind and cheerful, yes, but with a sharp wit and a drive for greatness... Oh, you could shine in Gryffindor, like your parents... But no, no... You seek more than bravery. You desire ambition, resourcefulness, and the freedom to carve your own path. Slytherin will help you unlock your full potential!"

"Slytherin?" I whispered, shocked.

"Yes, my dear. You will do great things there," the hat said.

And just like that, the Sorting Hat shouted, "SLYTHERIN!"

The room was silent for a moment before the Slytherin table erupted in applause. I hesitated, but then I stood up and walked over, my head held high.

My parents were surprised when they heard the news but supported me wholeheartedly. They reminded me that the house doesn’t define who you are—it’s what you do that matters.

In Slytherin, I discovered strengths I didn’t know I had. My ambition and determination pushed me to excel in both academics and quidditch. As a first-year, I managed to make the house team as a Chaser, shocking many upperclassmen. On the pitch, I was unstoppable, earning respect from teammates and rivals alike.

While some of my housemates valued cunning and power above all else, I stayed true to my kind and cheerful nature. My openness and love for magical creatures earned me friendships across all the houses. I was often found helping Hufflepuffs with Herbology or practicing Defense Against the Dark Arts with Ravenclaws.

Despite the Slytherin reputation, I strived to break stereotypes. I stood up to injustice wherever I saw it, earning admiration (and sometimes envy) from my peers. My unique blend of ambition, kindness, and strength of character soon made me a respected figure in the school.

And so, my journey at Hogwarts began—a story of self-discovery, magical adventures, and proving to everyone that being a Slytherin didn’t mean abandoning who I was. I was Juliet Rosewood, and I was determined to leave my mark on the wizarding world. (Later, I discovered, my patronus is a Unicorn!!)
