Backstory

I was sorted into Ravenclaw when I arrived here, and I believe that the hat made that decision based on my innate curiosity and penchant for new knowledge. At first the sorting hat was deciding between Ravenclaw and Slytherin, and since my father was a Slytherin, that does not surprise me, but it seems that my yearning for wisdom was a step above my resourcefulness and ambition. Since I began, I have found that I prefer magical and written subjects like Charms and Astronomy to others, like Potions, but I do also have a 'green thumb' as they say - it seems that I have a natural talent for Herbology. I am not the world's largest fan of Potions as it stands, the ingredients tend to be a little temperamental instead of following a replicable pattern like most other things. I also find History of Magic to be a little boring, since I've already read the textbooks three times over and know everything I'm being taught, but I still excel in it nontheless.
I look forward to learning about Ancient Runes and Studies, as well as Divination, because they are about looking back and knowing the past, and the future, and the pursuit of new knowledge and understanding is something I value greatly. I hope, when I leave this school, to go into a career where I can continue finding new things, perhaps in Archaeology or something similar. Maybe, one day, when I am older and wiser, I would return to this very school and spread the things I know to a new, curious generation.
